26th year in memorial of Seub Nakhasathien at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, Uthai Thani Province during August 31 – September 1, 2016.
Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Thailand and other organizations have participated in the commemoration in the 26th year of Memorial of Seub Nakhasathien, held at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary (HKK), Uthai Thani Province during August 31 – September 1, 2016. This annual event aims to honor Seub Nakhasathien and forest rangers who died in action of their sacrifice to protect the natural resources and wildlife, together with supporting current rangers’ morale and raising the public’s awareness of the importance and being a part to help protect the natural resources in Thungyai – Huai Kha Khaeng Forest Complex which has been announced as a World Natural Heritage Site.
The exhibition consists of various activities such as merit-making ceremony, scholarship granting ceremony to provide educational support to rangers’ children and students from the tiger conservation network, wreath laying ceremony, candle-lit remembrance of Seub Nakhasathien.
In addition, WCS staff attended a meeting to strengthen jointly cooperation for wildlife conservation between wildlife sanctuary officers and villagers in surrounding areas. Mr. Sompoch Maneerat, Superintendent of Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary gave a sign states possession of gun snares is prohibited to representatives from 43 villages to display within their areas.

The representatives from 43 villages registered at the meeting to strengthen jointly cooperation for wildlife conservation between wildlife sanctuary officers and villagers in surrounding areas.
Mr. Sompoch Maneerat, a Superintendent of Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary gave a welcome speech and delivered a topic of threat situation along the sanctuary and village’s border.

Seub Nakhasathien’s Day 2016 Exhibition at Chakkapan Pensiri Building, Kasetsart University during September 1-2, 2016.
On the other side at Kasetsart University (Bangkhen Campus), the exhibition of Seub Nakhasathien’s Day 2016 is held in Chakkapan Pensiri Building during September 1-2, 2016. The highlight is on the life story of Seub Nakhasathien, as a graduate from Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University and a man who contributed greatly to the society, to raise awareness toward importance of conservation and sustainable utilization of natural resources. There are conservation exhibitions by government and organizations, including the exhibitions about patrol and tiger monitoring in Thungyai – Huai Kha Khaeng Forest Complex, and in Kaeng Krachan National Park by WCS Thailand.
For other activities, there are merit-making ceremony, wreath laying ceremony, and so many more.
