
WCS staff are invited as lecturers which have carried out lessons focusing on patrol database management. The SMART program trainings for 59 database administration officers were held during 8-12 and 23-27 December 2015 at Khao Yai Training Center, Khao Yai National Park, Nakhon Nayok Province. The aim of training is to enhance officer competency in using SMART Program (Spatial Monitoring And Reporting Tool) correctly for patrol database management and patrol planning within their responsible areas. Participants come from various sectors (in total 27 protected areas) such as Thong Pha Phum National Park, Phu Laenkha National Park, Tham Pha Thai National Park, Khao Phaeng Ma Non-hunting Area, Phu Pha Daeng Wildlife Sanctuary, Phanom Dong Rak Wildlife Sanctuary, Khao Sanam Priang Wildlife Sanctuary, World Wide Fund for Nature–Thailand etc.
The lessons focus on patrol database management such as patrol data entry, data query from database, and patrol report creating by using SMART program.
